The tortilla chips provided free were fresh warm and crunchy.. not at all greasy.. We ordered the El Caporal variety of fajitas for 2.. $27.99 menu price.. and they were great! Came out super sizzling and steaming up the place.. included shrimp chicken and asada steak.. lots of green peppers.. though not many onions.. We liked the marinated flavors and the carmelized char on the proteins and veggies... standard rice, refried beans, lettuce and pico came on separate plates.. along with a bonus serving of fresh guacamole..

I only ordered a chicken quesadilla carry out the guy that took my order asked me what kind of chicken I said shredded. When I picked up my order all I got was a boring cheese quesadilla and I didn't have enough time to go back and get another one. Waste of my time and money for lunch. I will not revisit this place because they are bad place

We decided to try this place tonight and we're glad we did.I had the chimichanga with ground beef. It was hot and crispy, covered with cheese and sauce. They let you choose what filling you want in your meal, so you can customize and get exactly what you want.

Happened across this place on a multi state road trip. It was the best Mexican we'd had in a while and one of the best meals on the trip. Everything was seasoned well, portions are large, service was fantastic. Somehow, someday, we'll end up back here for another meal. Would absolutely recommend.

Great service, salsa has a bit of heat, and the Guac was spectacular. I got the burrito Ranchero and it was phenomenal. I must have said at least three times that it was amazing while eating. So good that I forgot the table wobbles.

One of my go to mexican spots in town. Pros:-service is always good-salsa is decent -guac and tomatillo salsa is great-margaritas are stronger than your typical mex place Cons:-no margarita specials ever-fajitas are inconsistently portioned -I got sick once out of maybe 20 times eating here.Overall its a good spot if youre in the area. The owners are sweet people.

Not my favorite Mexican. No Margarita specials. Most other places do at least 1 Margarita day; sometimes 2 days - usually Mon. & Wed. Margaritas were good, but $4.99 for the smallest size 12 oz. Guacamole was good. Did not eat any other food. Booths are worn & our 1st table wobbly.

I ordered ceviche which is supposed to be served cold, it came warm. I asked for it to be served cold, server tried his best going into the kitchen to have the cook to made it right. It came back warm again. I also ordered caldo 7 mares, wasn’t tasteful. To many flies around the tables and just not my favorite place around.

The worst Mexican food ever! Guacamole had a strange aftertaste as did the beans. Food was delivered to the table not as described on the menu. Waitress was very nice, but I don’t think the cook had a clue. Won’t be going back there ever! $32 totally unsatisfying meal.

Wish I could rate lower. Was sat at a booth. Was given chips and salsa. I got no greeting, no hello, no offer of a beverage. 10m later I left. Still not one person said anything to me.

Absolutely LOVE going to El Caporal! Excellent food, reasonably priced. I indicated a $12/person cost, though my wife & I usually extend beyond that due to drinks! I'm also basing that on dinner pricing - lunch specials are an even better deal!We always leave pleasantly stuffed, with doggie bags of leftovers - YUM! Enough to have El Caporal for lunch the next day!Entire staff is very friendly. Highly recommend eating here if you're in the area!

Atmosphere was what I expected. Drink selection felt limited. The food was just meh... I had the spinach quesadilla and my husband had a shrimp cocktail. We were not impressed and will not return. The staff was very kind.

Literary my favorite restaurant to eat at when I come or Louisville to visit my sister. The food OMG ITS SOOOO GOOD and the servers that work there are awesomely sweet and man are the great at doing their job!!
